It’s been just under a month since we shared the full reveal of our basement for this spring’s One Room Challenge, and since then the kids have loved playing in their new space! Previous to this renovation, we would spend as little time as possible in the basement. It always felt cold and uninviting. Lately I’ve been pinning just about every nook I come across on Pinterest. I can’t get enough of how much detail you can pack into such a little area, and how much of a bonus space it can be. Here are my top five ways to fill those awkward corners so they reach their full potential!
My sister and brother in law moved into a cute little home last year, and I was more then happy when they asked me to help redesign the layout of the kitchen and main floor living space! They wanted the space to feel more spacious and brighter, and have a a french country style.

You guys, the end finally feels like it’s in sight! We made so much progress this past week, and I am so so excited with how things are coming together. The builtins were installed on Friday, and I’ve been so tempted to start styling them. We ended up going with solid White Oak for the front of the shelves and frame, and went with White Oak plywood for the sides and shelves to save some cost. I was a bit worried you would be able to see we used two different products, but you can’t at all! I really love how simple they are, and how the white shiplap back gives it a casual feel.
