One Room Challenge – Week Three

Alyssa Wieske

The flooring went in this week, and we have started ordering all the furnishings for my sons bedroom. I’m dying to see them all together in the space! (If you missed my posts for weeks one and two for the One Room Challenge, you can read them here and here.)

The room currently has a really plain flushmount, which will be replaced with this schoolhouse light fixture from Rejuvenation. I love the vintage feel it has, and the combination of black metal and milk glass! I am also on the hunt for a vintage turkish rug. I had one picked out but sadly it sold before I could snag it up! Hoping I can find one in time that is the right colour and size!

There is one empty wall in the room that I wasn’t totally sure what to do with, but then came across this charcoal wood bookcase that was the perfect size! I’m planning on putting mainly cream and wood items on display to tie in the with rest of the room.

For his bed, I already had this toddler bed from RH Baby & Child, and white bedding from Pottery Barn Kids. To make it more boyish, I purchased this adorable navy buffalo check pillow from Studio Mcgee, and a cream plaid throw from HomeSense.

I wanted a cute little desk area under the window that he could play and build at. I went with this light wood desk from Pottery Barn kids, and a leather industrial stool from RH Teen. I had been searching every where for something similar, but couldn’t get this one out of my head and decided to splurge! For the wall I also purchased this lower case metal j from RH Baby & Child. I love that it makes the room more personable!

Also, I may of changed my mind and decided to go with shiplap on the ceiling! I had thought about incorporating it into his room a while back, but then changed my mind. However, now that I am seeing all the pieces come together I feel like it is just calling for some white painted shiplap!
