Phase II of our Rolling Fields project marked the moment when the full vision of the home came into view. During this presentation, we were able to share how the architecture, interiors, materials, finishes, and renderings all converge—exactly as they were intended from the very beginning—as one cohesive and fully realized story. This post offers an inside look at the key features and design process that shaped the home’s interior experience, and how each decision ties back to the architecture and overall narrative of the project.
The interior was conceived as a natural extension of the design language established on the exterior. Architectural proportions, materiality, and structural cues informed every interior gesture.
Because our team developed the architecture, floor plan, materials, and interiors as one unified process, the home feels seamless from the moment you approach it through every transition inside. Each space was choreographed with quiet clarity. The circulation unfolds with an effortless rhythm, revealing harmony between structure, form, and detail. This cohesion reflects the depth of Phase II—the stage where materials, finishes, and lived-in intent come together to express the heart of the design.
Inside, the palette continues the narrative. Reclaimed European cobblestones anchor the home with texture and history, while layered lighting and refined sightlines bring warmth and softness to each room. Patinaed deep-blue lime plaster flanks the foyer, stone walls define the kitchen and dining areas, and stone-clad window wells in the sitting room introduce a gentle, old-world character that subtly bridges indoors and out. Open-flame, wood-burning fireplaces further root the home in authenticity and ritual.
Light was treated as a design element in its own right. Window proportions were carefully considered to balance exterior symmetry with interior atmosphere, shaping a calm, natural glow throughout the home. One of the project’s defining moments comes in the interior breezeway, where a post-and-beam window creates a timeless architectural gesture—almost like a preserved artifact woven seamlessly into the new.
Phase II brings all of these layers into focus, revealing a home conceived with intention at every scale—unified, deeply considered, and crafted to feel both elevated and profoundly comfortable.
