Throughout the summer, we’ve been working through some projects in our backyard to get it a little closer to our end goal, (which includes various seating areas and lots of lavender and hydrangea bushes!) However, before we can start adding in gardens and picking out furniture we’ve got some items to check off the list, including our garden shed. Since moving in, I had planned to repaint it, but was excited to work with the symmetrical shape and flower boxes.
Since moving into our home just under 2 years ago, we have been tackling it one room at a time to add in more character with hardwood floors, millwork and larger mouldings. Over the last year, we have included Metrie’s Complete Pre-Painted Shiplap in our formal living room and basement to make both spaces feel more custom, and it’s one of my favourite details! In our living room, it adds just a bit more interest and texture to the minimal bookshelves, and I love how it gives a more layered look. The shiplap comes pre-painted so you don’t have to worry about dry time. Just measure cut and install. This means no painting equipment is required, and will also allow… Read more »
Happy Saturday! We spent the day cleaning and setting up our family cottage. We were a little hesitant about taking the kids along, but are so glad we did! They spent the entire day playing on the beach and building sand castles. We just got home and tucked them into bed, and I am already looking forward to spending more time up there with them! If you follow us over on Instagram, I shared a bit about our plans for our kids bathroom update. When we moved into our home just under 2 years ago, this bathroom was one of my favourite rooms in the house. I still really like a lot of the details, but just want to make… Read more »
It’s been just under a month since we shared the full reveal of our basement for this spring’s One Room Challenge, and since then the kids have loved playing in their new space! Previous to this renovation, we would spend as little time as possible in the basement. It always felt cold and uninviting. Since completing the space, Steve and I even love spending time down there reading books to the kids or checking out the new fort they’ve built. Installing the Karastan carpet was a game changer and has really made the space so cozy! When I was at my local flooring retailer last fall, I came across the Savanna Scenes Antelope print and right away thought about our… Read more »
With our One Room Challenge all done, we’ve started work in our backyard. When we moved in, it was about 80% garden. We’ve got plans for some sitting areas surrounded by gardens, and flowering climbing vines. Right now it looks like a mess, but I can’t wait to share it with you once its all done! I’ve been pinning so many images, and this one convinced me we should include an outdoor fireplace! Luxe Here are some of the other exterior and interior images I’m loving!
